Today took us to Costco, a 2 mile walk away to locate some beach chairs and an umbrella. Mission accomplished along with a fresh papaya from Oaxaca, some organic tomatoes and spinach and a taxi cab back home.
Now, después del almuerzo that included a smoothie with fresh orange juice, banana, papaya with chia seeds and fresh goat’s milk yogurt, we’re relaxing before taking off again to the beach to try out new furniture.
I just created a new playlist with all songs with Mexico in the title!! Our technology is state of the art, 2 TVs, Apple TV, 2 MacBooks, an iPad and our bluetooth speakers.
It’s not perfect here but something’s right. What is it that makes me feel like I’m in the place I should be when I’m not at home??? Now that will make for an enlightened discussion. I know it’s illusory but in many ways I feel safer here… The news feels more remote.
We haven’t signed up at the gym yet since we’ve been walking and swimming every day and just taking it slowly recreating that Camino State of Mind as best we can. That will happen tomorrow though since I’m ready for some spinning and yoga to add to the daily routine.
We eat simply. Lots of fresh veggies and fruit, tuna, shrimp. And hoping some pounds will fall off.
There are many many expatriates here and the Super Bowl will be a giant phenomenon. When we tell people we’re from Seattle, everyone knows! Not sure where we’ll watch it. We’re checking out venues but we might just stay here since we have our big screen set up.
Skyped with Sonya, Alex, and Hazel last night. They’ll be here in 3 weeks. Hazel will love it. She remembers all the details from last year!! Oh those young absorbable brains! My Spanish sucks but everyone accommodates.
Uh oh. Tranquility just took a back seat. E-mail from REI who want us to present on the Camino in Olympia and perhaps Tacoma in March. Yikes. Here we go again. But this will be fun. The stakes are not high and we have passion.
