Familia - February 16-24th

The family arrived in the late afternoon on Monday!  This is the second time they have joined us here at Las Moras so everything was mostly familiar!

Hazel's brought her joyful spirit and that framed the week.  She loved being in Mexico!  The child loves new experiences and soaks them up - everything from riding busses and in taxis to swimming swimming swimming - ocean and pools!

We had a taco dinner the first night and after that had breakfasts and lunch here and explored different venues for dinners.

The day we had breakfast at Organic Select was lovely.

I hope that Sonya and Alex had an opportunity to indulge themselves in some time away from the everyday responsibilities of life as a parent, wage earner and everything else that comes with the 40 something time period.

We soaked up Hazel time.  This is such a delightful age.  There are not many words necessary.  I'll let some photos tell the story.  And now I'll use my time to create the Second Mexico Storybook.

Somehow taking a siesta was different from taking a nap, especially after a tiring swim time!

The simple act of riding a bus is so much fun!

And then there's driving through Soriana's - the Supermercado.

Bonus!  Family next door has a daughter with curly blonde hair!  Picnic time.

Vamos a la playa!

Love these 3.

Carnival time with new friends.

Always a way to make a fort or some kind of set-up!

Beginning of Last week here

February 25,2015
Family left yesterday. I awoke early relishing the contrast in lifestyle.  I'm savoring some time alone in the quiet coolness of early morning.
Yesterday after dinner we walked to the Mall, just to get some exercise.  I didn't enjoy it.  The exhaust fumes, the noise, the heat, the sameness overcame me. Plus I admittedly was tired from a week of social engagement.  A night-time swim soon soothed me.

I relish this next and last week.  Time together without the trials of daily life are good for our relationship.

Civility and forgiveness.  Our focus for the  time being.

On the plus side:

Convenient to get to
jet lag is minimal
Economical
Warm and sunny
Whole house, gated community
Tranquility in las Moras
Safe
Familiar
Access to beaches
Gym nearby
Grocery shopping is good. More and more organic
Exchange rate is in our favor: almost 15 pesos to the dollar.
Leslie and Rudy are here
DRUMROLL:  weekly massages by Mina for 500 pesos each.  $33.00 each

On the minus:
Limited physical activities - just walking and gym
Noisy, exhaust fumes, very hot
Can walk on trails but no hiking or cycling
Kitchen has only teflon utensils and pots and pans

Craig's turn for a massage!  No complaints!!
